Penthouse AD Dreams

New York, NY

In a bustling urban environment, a family sought to transform their outdated penthouse into a chic, magazine-worthy space. The apartment posed unique challenges, such as expensive demolition costs due to existing outdoor pavers as flooring throughout, so we opted to float engineered wood floors to create a seamless foundation. By retaining the existing plumbing and lighting locations in the bathrooms and kitchen, we redirected funds to stylish finishes.

The entryway featured bold snakeskin wallpaper and a large mirror, setting the tone for the rest of the apartment. The guest bathroom became an oasis with neutral zellige mosaic tiles and a playful ceramic-marble floor pattern, while a whimsical DIY medicine cabinet added a personal touch. The living room embraced an open, airy design, incorporating a reupholstered Vladimir Kagan sectional and curated décor reflecting the clients' personalities. Custom cabinetry in the kitchen showcased rich navy tones, while open shelving and a clever garage appliance space added practicality. A creative use of space included a banquette in place of a dining room and a hallway lined with custom closets for extra storage. The son’s room was playful yet functional, with bold yellow doors and a soft blue paint palette. The primary bedroom became a minimalist Parisian dream, with geometric wallpaper and an upholstered headboard that goes wall to wall. The ensuite bathroom featured micro-cemented walls and a stunning marble mosaic floor, breathing new life into the space.

Through a thoughtful orchestration of design elements, the renovation balanced creativity with budget-conscious choices. The end result was a vibrant, welcoming home that exuded the elegance of an Architectural Digest spread while maintaining warmth and livability.
